Diamond Grinding
We can successfully remove existing coatings on concrete flooring using our HTC four head planetary grinder, because this machine leaves a smooth swirl-free finish it is ideally suited in preparation for thin film coatings and toppings.
Diamond Grinding is also suitable for the following applications:
- Removal of thick or soft materials such as latex or tile adhesive.
- Smoothing of rough or uneven surfaces.
- Removal of old coatings and contaminants.

- Can produce a very smooth uniform surface

- Relatively low dust generation (through draughts should be avoided)
- Capable of preparing 50-75m2 per hour in open areas
- Diamond grinding removes flexible or soft materials more efficiently than shotblasting
- Diamond grinding removes high build coatings more efficiently than shotblasting
- Diamond grinding removes multiple coats of paint more efficiently than shot blasting

- Diamond grinding is slower than shotblasting
- Diamond grinding is more expensive than shotblasting
- Diamond grinding creates more dust than shotblasting
- Diamond grinding tools are expensive and easily destroyed by protruding metal studs or bolts sitting proud on the floor slab
- Consumption of diamond grinding tools can be expensive when removing thick coatings
- Consumption of diamond grinding tools can be expensive when smoothing out rough concrete
